Wigmore Wanderers lined up in a 4-2-1-3 formation, deploying a solid back four with Ben Brewster at right back, Oli Gibbons and Alex Toms as central defenders, and Harvey Edkins on the left. The midfield double pivot featured Harley Tutt and Leon Vidler, tasked with both defensive cover and linking play. The formation promised width, midfield creativity, and a strong attacking presence. The substitutes named were Harry Smith, James Lundie, Tom Spearink, and Jack Downey.
The match burst into life early as Wigmore Wanderers took the lead in the fifth minute. Oli Gibbons launched a precise long pass into the box, where Ronnie Porter controlled expertly before firing a left-footed finish past the Athletic Bilbowls goalkeeper. Barely a minute later, Porter turned provider, flicking the ball cleverly to Jason Yuen who slotted home with his right foot from close range, doubling the visitors’ advantage.
Athletic Bilbowls responded swiftly, pulling a goal back in the ninth minute with a close-range header that tested Wigmore’s defensive resilience. However, the Wanderers quickly reasserted control. In the 14th minute, Harvey Edkins delivered a long pass into the box, allowing Jason Yuen to rise highest and head home his second goal of the morning from close range.
Jason Yuen was in unstoppable form and added a third for himself in the 22nd minute. Receiving a short pass from Ronnie Porter, Yuen unleashed a powerful right-footed strike from outside the box that left the goalkeeper with no chance. The Wanderers’ dominance was clear as they continued to press.
Just before half-time, in the 40th minute, Jason Yuen turned provider, delivering a free kick into the box that found Harley Tutt. The second half saw tactical changes from the Wanderers. At the 50th minute mark, Harry Smith replaced Harvey Edkins, followed shortly by James Lundie coming on for Ronnie Porter two minutes later. These substitutions aimed to maintain the team’s intensity and tactical shape.
Wigmore Wanderers continued to dominate possession and chances, and in the 62nd minute, Jason Yuen again played a key role, assisting Kai Wong with a short pass inside the box. Wong finished clinically with his right foot to make it 6-1, effectively sealing the game.
Further tactical substitutions followed as Tom Spearink replaced Leon Vidler in the 64th minute. Then, in a flurry of changes around the 75th to 80th minutes, Ronnie Porter was briefly reintroduced before being swapped again with Leon Vidler and Jason Yuen returned to the pitch, replacing Kai Wong.
