Wigmore Wanderers FC 6–2 Rainham 84 Youth Men
Away Cup Match — Sunday 11 October 2026
Wigmore Wanderers booked their place in the next round with a convincing 6–2 cup win over Rainham 84 Youth Men, producing a blistering first-half start before George Hennessy completed his hat-trick late on.
Wigmore took the lead after 11 minutes. Jack Downey picked out James Lundie, who finished from close range to make it 1–0. Twelve minutes later, Harry Smith returned the favour for Jack, setting him up to score inside the box.
Harry then made it 3–0 on 33 minutes, scoring directly from a corner. Rainham pulled one back five minutes later, finishing from close range after Harvey Edkins was caught out, but Wigmore went into the break with a 3–1 advantage.
The second half began with another Hennessy goal. Charlie Ivey supplied the assist on 47 minutes, restoring Wigmore’s three-goal cushion. The narrow pitch and a series of changes made it harder for Wigmore to keep the game flowing, but the team continued to create chances.
Hennessy grabbed his second on 74 minutes, finishing a move set up by Ben Brewster. Two minutes later, he completed his hat-trick, this time with Joseph Tydeman providing the assist. Rainham scored a second in the 89th minute, but the result was already secure: a 6–2 win and a place in the next round.
Nathan Toms was named man of the match after winning plenty of aerial battles and making several timely interceptions. Harry’s classy goal capped a strong all-round performance, while Hennessy’s well-taken hat-trick proved decisive.
