Witham Friary adopted a 4-5-1 formation, which allowed them to maintain a solid defensive structure while providing ample support for their lone striker. Witham's resolve was tested, but they responded well, and should have had a penalty in the 56th minute after Nikolaj Ostergaard was bundled to the floor but the referee thought otherwise.
