On 26 April 2026, Worthing Dynamo U13 Black travelled to The Angmering School to face Rustington Otters U13 in a friendly 11-a-side match, kicking off at 12:30pm. The visitors delivered a commanding performance, running out comfortable 7-1 winners after 70 minutes of action plus added time.

Worthing Dynamo lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation, designed to provide defensive solidity with two central midfielders shielding the back four, while supporting a lone striker through a trio of attacking midfielders. Jenson Blackman took his place in goal, protected by a back four consisting of Bailey Freshwater at right back, Ellis Williams and Toby Killick as central defenders, and Tom Thurgood on the left. In midfield, Isaish Hatton and Leo Whyatt operated centrally, tasked with both breaking up play and initiating attacks. Ahead of them, Toby Rennie occupied the right attacking midfield role, Archie Parker-Muckle played centrally behind the striker, and Teddy Gill featured on the left wing. Leading the line was Lewis Langdell, the focal point of the attack. Finley Stevens was named among the substitutes.

The match burst into life early on with Langdell opening the scoring in the 15th minute, demonstrating clinical finishing to give Worthing Dynamo the lead. Barely a minute later, Langdell doubled his tally, capitalising on a swift attacking move to put the visitors firmly in control. The momentum continued as Teddy Gill added a third goal in the 20th minute, showcasing his ability to cut inside from the left and finish with precision. Shortly after this, a tactical substitution saw Finley Stevens replace Gill in the 21st minute, injecting fresh energy into the side.

Langdell was not finished, grabbing his third goal of the match in the 30th minute to complete a fine first-half hat-trick. Archie Parker-Muckle then made his mark, scoring in the 35th minute to extend the lead to five goals before the interval. The first half concluded with Worthing Dynamo firmly in command, having executed their game plan to near perfection.

At half time, a substitution was made with Teddy Gill returning to the pitch in place of Isaish Hatton, signalling a shift in midfield dynamics as the second half commenced. Rustington Otters managed to pull a goal back in the 48th minute, offering a brief glimmer of hope, but this was swiftly extinguished. Just two minutes later, substitute Finley Stevens found the net, restoring the five-goal cushion and reaffirming Worthing Dynamo’s dominance.

Further changes followed as Isaish Hatton came back on for Bailey Freshwater in the 55th minute, before Freshwater himself returned to the field in place of Toby Rennie five minutes later. These tactical adjustments maintained the team’s balance and energy levels. Langdell completed his remarkable day with a fourth goal in the 69th minute, sealing an emphatic victory for the visitors. The final substitution saw Toby Rennie reintroduced for Ellis Williams in the 70th minute, rounding off a well-managed game from the bench.

Worthing Dynamo U13 Black’s 7-1 triumph was built on a solid defensive foundation, midfield control, and ruthless finishing up front, with Lewis Langdell’s four-goal haul standing out as the highlight. The team’s fluid 4-2-3-1 formation allowed them to dominate possession and create numerous chances, while their defensive unit limited Rustington Otters to a solitary goal. This comprehensive win on the road will surely boost confidence as the season progresses.
