AFC Morden were founded in 1973 by a group of local residents. They started playing in the Morden & District Sunday Football League and quickly rose through the divisions. In 1985, they won the league championship and were promoted to the Premier Division.
AFC Morden have remained in the Premier Division ever since. They have won the league championship a further three times, in 1993, 2001, and 2017.
