AFC Raciu was founded in 2017 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The club's first season was in the Moldovan Regional League, the third tier of Moldovan football. In their first season, the club finished in 4th place.
In the 2018-19 season, AFC Raciu won promotion to the Moldovan National Division B. The club finished in 3rd place in their first season in the second tier, qualifying for the promotion play-offs. However, the club lost to FC Dinamo-Auto in the play-offs and remained in the National Division B.
In the 2022-23 season, AFC Raciu are currently in 4th place in the Moldovan National Division B.
