History
Ballycastle United was founded in 1924 and originally played in the Ballymena & Provincial League. The club won the league title in 1948-49 and 1950-51.
In 1974, Ballycastle United joined the Irish League, the top tier of Northern Irish football. The club played in the Irish League for 10 seasons, before being relegated in 1984.
Since being relegated from the Irish League, Ballycastle United has played in the Intermediate League and the Premier Intermediate League. The club currently competes in the Coleraine and District Premier League.
