Boavista Futebol Clube, commonly known as Boavista, is a Portuguese professional sports club from the city of Porto. Founded on 1 August 1903 by British entrepreneurs and Portuguese textile workers, it is one of the oldest clubs in the country and plays in the Primeira Liga, Portuguese football's top flight.
History
Boavista was founded in 1903 by two English brothers, Harry and Dick Lowe. The club's first home ground was the Campo do Bessa, which was located in the Boavista district of Porto. Boavista won its first major trophy in 1914, when it won the Campeonato do Porto, a regional league competition.
Boavista's first major success came in 1976, when it won the Portuguese Cup. The club won the league title for the first time in 2001, and also won the Portuguese Super Cup in the same year.
Recent seasons
Boavista has been in the Primeira Liga since 2014. The club finished in 11th place in the 2022-23 season.

Boavista's home ground is the Estádio do Bessa Século XXI. The stadium was built in 2003 and has a capacity of 28,263.
