Bournemouth Poppies Football Club is an English football team currently playing in the Wessex League Premier Division, in the ninth tier of the English football league system. Their nickname is "The Poppies", and they are often known as Bournemouth Poppies to avoid confusion with the Premier League club AFC Bournemouth. The club plays at Victoria Park, Namu Road, in Bournemouth and are founding members of the Hampshire FA and Bournemouth FA.
The club was founded in 1875 as Bournemouth Rovers. They changed their name to Bournemouth Poppies in 1914. The club has won the Wessex League Premier Division championship twice, in 1995–96 and 2019–20.
Recent history
Bournemouth Poppies finished third in the Wessex League Premier Division in 2021–22. They were knocked out of the FA Cup in the first qualifying round by Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
The club's current manager is Phil Brown. He was appointed in June 2022.
