Bury Maroon is a football team based in Bury, Greater Manchester, England. They currently play in the Premier Division of the North West Counties League, the ninth tier of the English football pyramid.
The team was founded in 2023 as a phoenix club following the expulsion of Bury Football Club from the English Football League. Bury FC had last played in EFL League Two, the fourth tier of English football, in the 2018–19 season.
Bury Maroon play their home games at Gigg Lane, which is also the home of Bury AFC.
History
- Bury Football Club was founded in 1885 and played in the Football League from 1894 to 2019.
- The club was expelled from the Football League in 2019 due to financial problems.
- A phoenix club, Bury AFC, was formed in 2020 and began playing in the North West Counties League.
- Bury Maroon was formed in 2023 as a second phoenix club.
