Cinquentissimo is a football (soccer) team based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The team was founded in 2010 and currently competes in the Campeonato Mineiro Segunda Divisão, the second tier of football in the state of Minas Gerais.
History
Cinquentissimo was founded in 2010 by a group of friends who were passionate about football. The team's name is a reference to the fact that Belo Horizonte was founded in 1897, the 500th anniversary of the discovery of Brazil.
Cinquentissimo quickly rose through the ranks of the Minas Gerais football pyramid. In 2015, the team won the Campeonato Mineiro Terceira Divisão, the third tier of football in the state. The following year, Cinquentissimo won the Campeonato Mineiro Segunda Divisão, earning promotion to the Campeonato Mineiro Módulo I, the top tier of football in the state.
Cinquentissimo has struggled in the Campeonato Mineiro Módulo I, finishing in the bottom half of the table in each of its three seasons in the competition. However, the team remains a popular and well-supported club in Belo Horizonte.
Stadium
Cinquentissimo plays its home matches at the Estádio Municipal do Mineirão, a 65,000-seat stadium in Belo Horizonte. The stadium is also home to the two most successful clubs in Belo Horizonte, Atlético Mineiro and Cruzeiro.
