History
Kongarnir Reykjavik were founded in 2018 by the merger of two smaller clubs, Knattspyrnufélag Reykjavíkur and KR Þróttur. The club's name means "The Kings of Reykjavik" in Icelandic.
Kongarnir Reykjavik made their debut in the 3. deild karla in 2019. They finished the season in 6th place, narrowly missing out on promotion to the 2. deild karla.
