The Mavericks were formed in August 2009 when 9 lads from all over the city were put together from a football pool of players at the hardman football development center in milton.
They were first manged by Kayleigh Smith who was soon after joined by Shaun Wade (formally of Newcastle Town and Stoke city) who trained the lads and later became sole manager at the start of 2010/11 season.
The lads at first, like all new teams at the age of 6 found it difficult to listen and train in the way which the manager wanted. As the grew in the first season they became more confident and learned to listen more and now the friendship that they have formed with each other and also with Shaun has made them the team they are today.

The Potteries Mini League is a youth football league based in the Stoke-on-Trent area of England. The league was founded in 1972 and currently has over 300 teams participating.
The league is divided into age groups from Under-5s to Under-11s. Each team plays a number of matches during the season, with the top teams at each age group qualifying for the playoffs.
The Potteries Mini League is a great opportunity for children to learn the game of football and develop their skills. The league is also a lot of fun, with plenty of excitement and competition.
