MVC SAO PINTO was founded in 1972 by a group of Portuguese immigrants in Gent. The team quickly rose through the ranks of the Belgian football pyramid and reached the 2nd Amateur Division in 1980.
The team has remained in the 2nd Amateur Division ever since, with its best finish being a 3rd place in 2010.
