Sukkur is a city in Sindh, Pakistan, that has a rich history of football. The city has produced many talented footballers, including several who have gone on to represent Pakistan at the international level.
History
The first football club in Sukkur was founded in 1920. The club, called Azad Football Club, quickly became one of the most successful clubs in the city. In 1930, Azad Football Club won the Sindh Football League, the first time a team from Sukkur had won the league.
In the 1950s, Sukkur became a major center for football in Pakistan. Several clubs from the city were competing in the top leagues, and many talented footballers were emerging from the city. In 1958, Pakistan's national football team won the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship, and several players from Sukkur were on the team.
