Red Bulls FC was founded in 2017 by the Red Bulls Academy, the youth development system of Major League Soccer (MLS) club New York Red Bulls. The team's first season was in 2018.
In their inaugural season, Red Bulls FC finished in second place in the League1 Ontario regular season. They lost to FC London in the playoff final.
In 2019, Red Bulls FC finished in third place in the regular season. They lost to North Mississauga SC in the playoff semi-finals.
