Richie Football Club is a Nigerian football club based in Calabar, Cross River State. The club was founded in 1976 and currently competes in the Nigeria National League, the second tier of Nigerian football.
Richie FC is one of the most successful clubs in Cross River State, having won the Cross River State FA Cup a record 10 times. The club has also reached the semi-finals of the Nigeria FA Cup on three occasions.
History
Richie FC was founded in 1976 by a group of friends who wanted to create a football club that would represent the city of Calabar. The club's first president was Mr. Tony Ukpong.
Richie FC quickly rose through the ranks of Nigerian football, winning the Cross River State FA Cup in 1977. The club then made its debut in the Nigeria National League in 1978.
Richie FC has been a regular in the Nigeria National League ever since. The club has finished in the top four of the league on several occasions, but has never won the league title.
