Sagesse was founded in 1943 by a group of students from the Sagesse School in Baabda. The club's first president was Michel Trad. Sagesse won its first Lebanese Premier League title in 1946.
Sagesse has been one of the most successful clubs in Lebanon since the 1960s. The club has won the Lebanese Premier League 26 times, the Lebanese FA Cup 14 times, and the Lebanese Super Cup 12 times.
Recent seasons
Sagesse has been a regular contender for the Lebanese Premier League title in recent seasons. The club finished as runners-up in the 2019-20 season and finished third in the 2020-21 season.
Sagesse also reached the final of the Lebanese FA Cup in 2019-20, but lost to Nejmeh.
