Sevilla FC is a Spanish professional football club based in Seville, Andalusia. The club was founded in 1890 and currently plays in La Liga, the top tier of Spanish football. Sevilla have won 13 major trophies, including one La Liga title, six UEFA Europa League titles, and one UEFA Super Cup.

History

Sevilla FC was founded on 25 January 1890 by a group of British expatriates living in Seville. The club's first president was Edward Farquharson Johnston. Sevilla FC played their first match on 8 February 1890 against Recreativo de Huelva, which they lost 2-1.

Sevilla FC won their first major trophy in 1935, when they won the Copa del Rey. They won their first La Liga title in 1946. Sevilla FC have also won the UEFA Europa League six times, more than any other club. They won the UEFA Super Cup in 2006.
