The Sheep Shaggerz Football Club is a Welsh professional football club based in Cardiff. The club was founded in 1910 and currently plays in the Championship, the second tier of English football.
History
The Sheep Shaggerz were founded in 1910 as Cardiff City Football Club. The club played in the Southern League until 1920, when they were elected to the Football League. The club won the Third Division South championship in 1923-24 and were promoted to the Second Division.
The Sheep Shaggerz won the Second Division championship in 1925-26 and were promoted to the First Division for the first time. The club remained in the First Division until 1952, when they were relegated to the Second Division.
The Sheep Shaggerz won the Second Division championship in 1954-55 and were promoted back to the First Division. The club remained in the First Division until 1962, when they were relegated to the Second Division.
The Sheep Shaggerz won the Second Division championship in 1967-68 and were promoted back to the First Division. The club remained in the First Division until 1976, when they were relegated to the Second Division.
The Sheep Shaggerz won the Second Division championship in 2002-03 and were promoted back to the First Division. The club remained in the First Division until 2013, when they were relegated to the Championship.
Rivalries
The Sheep Shaggerz's main rivals are Swansea City. The two clubs contest the South Wales derby, which is one of the most intense rivalries in Welsh football.
The Sheep Shaggerz also have a rivalry with Bristol City. The two clubs have met in the FA Cup final on two occasions, in 1927 and 1928.
