Sholing Celtic was formed by a group of mates ,who had become too old for youth football. we started playing in the southampton sunday league in the 2004/05 season and were known as netley central sunday till 2010/11 season .becoming runners-up in division 5 in our first season.losing the title on the final day.2005/06 in division 4 we came runners up again this time by a margin. 2006/07 same again became runners up in division 3 and also getting to cup semi's before losing to our league winners.2007/08 we finished 2nd so but were promoted to the senior divisions of the league. 2008/09 we finished 3rd so stayed in the senior divsion, same happened again in 2009/10 , while last year was a mixed bag of beating league winners away to losing to bottom of the table and finishing 6th. fingers crossed 2011/12 will finaly be the year we claim our first trophy

The club was founded in 1972 and originally played in the Southampton Saturday Football League. They moved to the City Of Southampton Sunday Football League in 1998.

The club won the City Of Southampton Sunday Football League Cup in 2000 and 2002. They also won the Hampshire Intermediate Cup in 2001.
