S.L.G.S FC is a football (soccer) team based in Freetown, Sierra Leone. The club was founded in 1970 and currently competes in the Sierra Leone National Premier League.
History
S.L.G.S FC was founded in 1970 by a group of students from the Sierra Leone Grammar School. The club quickly rose through the ranks of Sierra Leonean football, winning the Sierra Leone National Premier League in 1974 and 1975.
S.L.G.S FC has also been successful in cup competitions, winning the Sierra Leone FA Cup in 1974, 1975, 1986, and 1990.
Recent seasons
S.L.G.S FC has not been as successful in recent years, finishing outside the top four of the Sierra Leone National Premier League in each of the last five seasons.
However, the club has a bright future, with a number of talented young players coming through the ranks.
Stadium
S.L.G.S FC plays its home games at the Siaka Stevens National Stadium in Freetown. The stadium has a capacity of 45,000.
