The team was founded in 2009 as St Albans City Ladies. They quickly climbed up the Beds and Herts Women's Football League, including an unbeaten run to the Division One title in 2011/12.

In 2023, the team merged with Colney Heath Ladies and moved to Clarence Park, the home of St Albans City FC. They now compete as St Albans City FC Women.

Current season

St Albans City FC Women are currently competing in the Eastern Region Women's Premier Division. They have had a mixed start to the season, winning two and losing two of their opening four games.
