History

St Mary Cray Athletic was founded in 1996 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The club started out in the Kent County League Division Three, and gradually worked their way up the leagues. In 2018, the team won promotion to the Orpington & Bromley District Sunday Football League Premier Division.

The club has a strong youth system, and has produced a number of players who have gone on to play professional football. These include Michael Calvin, who played for Charlton Athletic and Millwall, and Ben Chorley, who played for Gillingham and AFC Wimbledon.
