Thames WF Women was founded in 1984 by a group of women who wanted to play football. The team started out playing in local leagues and gradually worked their way up the divisions. In 2014, the team joined the Combined Counties League Premier Division, the highest level of women's football in Surrey.
Thames WF Women have won the Combined Counties League Premier Division title twice, in 2016 and 2019. They have also reached the final of the FA Women's National League Cup on two occasions, in 2017 and 2019.
