The team was founded in 2008 and has since won the North West Women's Regional League Premier Division twice (2015-16, 2018-19). They have also reached the final of the FA Women's National League North Cup on two occasions (2016-17, 2018-19).

North West Women's Regional League
The North West Women's Regional League is a women's football league in the North West of England. It is the highest regional league in the North West, and is a feeder league to the FA Women's National League.
The league was founded in 2009, and currently consists of 12 teams. The teams are divided into two divisions, the Premier Division and the First Division.
The winners of the Premier Division are promoted to the FA Women's National League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the First Division. The winners of the First Division are promoted to the Premier Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to regional leagues.
The North West Women's Regional League is a competitive league, and has produced a number of players who have gone on to play at the highest level, including Jess Park, who plays for Manchester City in the FA Women's Super League.
