History
The Yao football team was founded in 2000 by a group of local businessmen. The team quickly rose through the ranks of the Chinese football pyramid, and in 2010, they were promoted to the Chinese Super League.
The Yao football team has never won the Chinese Super League title, but they have finished as runners-up on two occasions. The team has also won the Chinese FA Cup on one occasion, in 2015.
