History
The Charrua Kaponga Football Club was founded in 1961 by a group of local men who wanted to create a football club in the Opunake area. The club's first team competed in the South Taranaki District Football League in 1962.
The club has won the South Taranaki District Football League championship on four occasions: in 1970, 1971, 1972, and 1983. The club has also won the South Taranaki Federation Cup on three occasions: in 1971, 1982, and 1983.
Current Season
The Charrua Kaponga Football Club is currently competing in the South Taranaki District Football League First Division. The club is currently in fourth place in the league table.
