The team was founded in 2019 by a group of friends who were all fans of the Marvel Comics character Thanos. The team's colors are purple and gold, and their logo features a stylized image of Thanos' head.

THANOS FOOTBALL CLUB have had a successful few years, winning the Lusaka Weekend Championship League Division 2 in 2020 and 2021. They are currently in second place in Division 1, and are hoping to win promotion to the Premier League next season.
