Simon Shand set up Cavalier Villa with the help of Nick Collins and James Conyard in 2003. As Shand was an Aston Villa Fan as was Conyard the team name it was decided must include Villa. The team was put together in a matter of days and all members met in the Gables Pub to sign up the day before the official registration.
The first season under Sish’s Management saw Cavalier Villa put in some great performances especially at home at Seddon Fields (The Fortress) and they came third in their first ever season.
2004 Saw a name change to Gables Villa and a change of home ground to Cox"s Bay where they won one game all season, but their away form was excellent and they had the best defence in their Division and equal third best in all divisions. The end of season table position reflected their poor home form when they came 4th. But yet again they had played some exciting football and showed glimpses of what was possible.
