Zanaco Football Club is a Zambian football club based in Lusaka that plays in the MTN/FAZ Super League. They play their home games at Sunset Stadium in Lusaka.
Zanaco was founded in 1978 as a social team by management trainees of Zambia National Commercial Bank. The team was launched at LOTUS INN in Lusaka. The founding members were Lloyd Choongo, Ben Banda, Nathan Lupupa and John Kasengele.
History
- Zanaco won their first league title in 1982.
- They have won the league a total of 7 times, most recently in 2021.
- They have also won the Zambian Cup a total of 3 times.
- Zanaco have represented Zambia in the CAF Champions League on several occasions, but have never progressed beyond the group stage.
