Egremont & District Sunday Football League
The Egremont & District Sunday Football League (E&DSFL) is an amateur football league based in Cumbria, England. It was formed in 1971 and currently has 20 teams competing in two divisions.
History
The E&DSFL was formed in 1971 by a group of football enthusiasts in the Egremont area. The league started with just 10 teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has 20 teams competing in two divisions.
The E&DSFL is affiliated to the Cumberland FA and the Football Association. The league's aim is to provide a competitive and enjoyable environment for amateur footballers in the Egremont area.
Format
The E&DSFL season runs from September to May. The league is divided into two divisions, the Premier Division and the First Division. Each division has 10 teams, who play each other twice, once at home and once away.
The top two teams in the Premier Division at the end of the season are promoted to the Cumberland County League. The bottom two teams in the Premier Division are relegated to the First Division. The top two teams in the First Division are promoted to the Premier Division. The bottom two teams in the First Division are relegated to the Supplementary League.
