Surrey Primary League

The Surrey Primary League (SPL) is an amateur football league for primary school children in Surrey, England. It was founded in 1972 and currently has over 100 teams playing in a variety of age groups.

History

The SPL was founded in 1972 by a group of primary school teachers who wanted to provide a competitive football league for their pupils. The league started with just a few teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 teams playing in a variety of age groups.

Surrey Primary League action

The SPL is affiliated to the Surrey FA and is run by a committee of volunteers. The league's aim is to provide a fun and safe environment for children to play football, and to promote fair play and sportsmanship.

Teams

The SPL has teams playing in a variety of age groups, from Under 7s to Under 18s. The teams are divided into divisions based on their ability, and each team plays a home and away fixture against each of the other teams in their division.

The SPL also has a number of cup competitions, including the SPL Cup, the SPL Trophy, and the SPL Challenge Cup. The cup competitions are open to all teams in the league, and they provide an opportunity for teams to compete against each other from different divisions.
