The Burntwood Amateur Football League was founded in 1970 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The league started with just eight teams, but it has grown steadily over the years and now has 20 teams competing in three divisions.

The top two teams in Division One are promoted to the Staffordshire County League at the end of each season, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division Two. The top two teams in Division Two are promoted to Division One, while the bottom two teams are relegated to Division Three.
