Durham Alliance Combination League

The Durham Alliance Combination League is an amateur football league in County Durham, England. It was formed in 2015 as a merger of the Durham Alliance and the Wearside Combination. The league currently has 18 teams competing in a single division.

History

The Durham Alliance Combination League was formed in 2015 following negotiations between the Durham County FA, the TWR Wearside League and Durham Alliance League. The merger was intended to create a more sustainable and competitive league structure for adult football in the region.

Durham Alliance Combination League action

The inaugural season of the new league began in August 2015, with 18 teams competing. The first champions of the league were Sunderland Hall Farm.

Format

The Durham Alliance Combination League is a single division league, with each team playing each other twice, once at home and once away. The top two teams at the end of the season are promoted to the Wearside League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Wearside League Division Two.

Cup competitions

The Durham Alliance Combination League also has a cup competition, the Durham Alliance Combination League Cup. The cup is open to all teams in the league, and the winner of the cup qualifies for the FA Vase.
