Football Mackay
Football Mackay is an amateur football league based in Mackay, Queensland, Australia. It is affiliated with Football Queensland (FQ).
History
Football Mackay was founded in 1968. The league initially consisted of only a few teams, but it has grown steadily over the years. Today, there are over 100 teams competing in Football Mackay, including men's, women's, and junior teams.
Competitions
Football Mackay runs a number of competitions, including:
- FQPL Whitsunday Coast Men's
- FQPL Whitsunday Coast Women's
- Mackay Premier League
- Mackay District League
- Mackay Junior League
The FQPL Whitsunday Coast Men's and Women's competitions are the top-level competitions in Football Mackay. They are both played over a 22-round season, with the top teams at the end of the season qualifying for the finals.
The Mackay Premier League is the second-tier competition in Football Mackay. It is played over a 16-round season, with the top teams at the end of the season qualifying for the finals.
The Mackay District League is the third-tier competition in Football Mackay. It is played over a 12-round season, with the top teams at the end of the season qualifying for the finals.
The Mackay Junior League is the competition for junior players. It is divided into a number of age groups, from Under-6 to Under-18.
