Mid Somerset League

The Mid Somerset League is an amateur football league in Somerset, England. It is affiliated to the Football Association and currently has three divisions: Premier Division, First Division, and Second Division.

The league was founded in 1907 and is currently sponsored by Trophies of Radstock. The current champions are Coleford Athletic, who won the Premier Division in the 2022-23 season.

History

Mid Somerset League action

The Mid Somerset League was founded in 1907 as the Mid-Somerset and North Bristol Football League. The league originally had two divisions, but this was expanded to three divisions in 1921.

The league has been sponsored by a number of different companies over the years, including Radstock Town Council, Bathgate Motors, and Trophies of Radstock.

The Mid Somerset League currently has three divisions:

  • Premier Division (14 teams)
  • First Division (12 teams)
  • Second Division (12 teams)

The Premier Division champions are promoted to the Western League, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the First Division. The top two teams from the First Division are promoted to the Premier Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Second Division. The top two teams from the Second Division are promoted to the First Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the Somerset County League.
