History
PGS Vatican City was founded in 2004 by a group of young people who wanted to play football in Vatican City. The league started with just four teams, but it has grown steadily over the years. In 2019, PGS Vatican City had 10 teams, each with a maximum of 12 players.
The league is open to all adults living in Vatican City, regardless of their nationality or religious affiliation. The only requirement is that players must be over the age of 18.
Season
The PGS Vatican City season runs from September to May. Each team plays each other team twice, once at home and once away. The top two teams at the end of the season qualify for the playoffs, which are played in a knockout format.
The winner of the playoffs is crowned the PGS Vatican City champion. The champion team receives a trophy and the right to represent Vatican City in the international Vatican City Football Cup.
