Salford District Soccer League
The Salford District Soccer League (SDFL) is an amateur football league in the Greater Manchester area of England. It was founded in 1920 and currently has over 100 teams competing in a variety of divisions, from under-7s to adults.
The SDFL is affiliated to the Football Association (FA) and is a member of the North West Counties Football League. This means that its teams are eligible to compete in the FA Cup and FA Vase.
The SDFL was founded in 1920 by a group of local football enthusiasts. The first season saw just 10 teams competing, but the league has grown steadily over the years and now has over 100 teams.
The SDFL has a long and proud history of producing talented footballers. In the past, players such as Gary Neville, Phil Neville, and Paul Scholes have all played in the league.
The 2023/24 season is currently underway. The top division in the SDFL is the Premier Division, which is followed by the First Division, Second Division, and Third Division. There are also a number of cup competitions, including the League Cup, the Challenge Cup, and the President's Cup.
The current champions of the SDFL Premier Division are Monton Sports JFC.
