The League is an amateur football league in the United Kingdom. It was founded in 1986 and is currently made up of over 200 teams. The league is divided into a number of divisions, with each division having its own promotion and relegation system.

The League is open to all teams, regardless of their level of experience or ability. The league is a great way for people to get involved in football and to meet new people.

The League was founded in 1986 by a group of friends who wanted to create a more relaxed and enjoyable alternative to the more formal leagues that existed at the time. The league was originally called the "Sunday League", but it was renamed to "The League" in 1990.

The League has grown steadily over the years and is now one of the largest amateur football leagues in the UK. The league has also expanded its reach beyond the UK and now has teams in a number of other countries, including the United States, Canada, and Australia.

The League is divided into a number of divisions, with each division having its own promotion and relegation system. The divisions are:

  • Premier Division
  • Division 1
  • Division 2
  • Division 3
  • Division 4
  • Division 5
  • Division 6
  • Division 7
  • Division 8
  • Division 9
  • Division 10

The Premier Division is the highest division in the league and is made up of the top teams in the league. The bottom two teams in the Premier Division are relegated to Division 1 at the end of each season.

The bottom two teams in Division 1 are relegated to Division 2, and so on. The top two teams in each division are promoted to the next division at the end of each season.


The League has a number of rules that all teams must adhere to. These rules include:

  • All players must be registered with the league.
  • All matches must be played under the laws of the game.
  • There is a maximum of 11 players per team.
  • There is a minimum age of 16 years old to play in the league.
  • There is a maximum of 3 substitutes per team.
