Abbey Villa 2nds travelled to Park Way yesterday for a 12:00pm kick-off in their league away fixture against Comber Rec 2nds. The match ended in a 3:0 defeat for Villa after a very challenging 90 minutes.
The first half was a tightly contested affair with neither side able to break the deadlock. Comber Rec received two yellow cards just before the interval, at the 40th and 45th minutes, indicating a physical and competitive encounter. Villa’s defence held firm during this period, but the visitors struggled to carve out clear-cut chances.
The second half saw Comber Rec take control early on, scoring twice within a four-minute spell at the 51st and 55th minutes. These goals put Villa on the back foot and forced a tactical response.
