Monday night football for us this mid-week as we got back to league business against Park Tool. The gaffer made three changes from the last game with Hutchy, Fyffee and Liam coming into the starting line-up in a 4-1-3-2 formation.

            Broony

Toshy, Tam, Sharpy, Hutchy

               Fyffee

    Craig M, McBee, Craig S

           Liam, Mitch

Subs: Ryan, Ecky, Hezy, Scotty, Millsy

It wasn’t the greatest of conditions for a game due to the strong wind but we, made the most of it to pick up another 3 points in the title race. In the first half we had the wind at our backs and knew we had to make the most of it by getting a comfortable lead at half time, and we did just that with 3 goals of high quality. The first goal came from a very good team move when Hutchy and Craig Stewart combined well down the left side and Craig set up Mitch who coolly slotted the ball past the keeper into the bottom corner. Mitch then turned provider as he set up Liam to score with another fine finish. Mitch then got his second of the game after racing onto McBee’s brilliant through ball to score.

HT 3-0

In the second half we knew they would come at us a bit as we played against the wind but we defended well reducing them to half chances while still creating chances ourselves at the other end. Their best chance came just before the hour mark when the midfielder struck the crossbar from the edge of the box. We then added a fourth to put the game beyond doubt when Craig got his second assist of the game setting up Mitch to grab his hat-trick. 4-0 wouldn’t have flattered us as we played very well again but the shine was taking off the victory a bit when they scored two late goals.

FT 4-2
