Hutson Cup 1st Round.........Renishaw M.W...4 Britannia F.C...2.
As i have had far more important things to attend to this week, i am only setting out a brief description of the game. It will possibly be percieved as sour grapes by my readers from Renishaw as we lost the game, but what the hell!!
3rd min Good catch by Hardy under pressure from lofted ball into Britannia box.
5th min Floated free kick by Mitchell, well tipped over by hosts keeper.
10th min effort wide by Mitchell, from Bennett corner.
12th min Good tackle on edge of box by Miles, ball runs free, Britannia defence give Renishaw striker too much time and room, fires home from 25 yards giving Hardy no chance.
15th min 2-0 Renishaw, harmless cross into box, Megyesi tries to nod ball back to Hardy hits own post with ball, ball runs free, tapped in
20th min great run and cross by Renishaw, well saved Hardy.
23th min good through ball finds Wright who lobs keeper, ball cleared off line by Renishaw defender.
26th mins Britannia deservedly pull a goal back. Megyesi deep cross rolled in at back post by LEE WRIGHT.
34th min rasping long shot by Dean Brown, inches over with keeper flapping.
35th min mistake at back, Britannia defence fail to clear, Hardy allows shot between his body and near post.
40th min good move down right wing by Renishaw fine cross nodded in at back post for 4-1.
44th min Miles unable to contiue after suffering yet another foul.
HALF TIME Renishaw MW.....4 Britannia F.C..1
45th min Bonson replaces injured Miles.
48th min shot well tipped over by Hardy
50th min Great run by Wright sees him pull shot across goal, goes narrowly wide.
60th min Renishaw become rattled as Britannia show determination to get back into game. Mitchell and home player clash after bad tackle (both booked)
63rd min tempers flare as Ref fails to get a grip on bad tackles. Shocking high challenge comes in on Britannia player. Number of others get involved referee HAS to RED CARD both players.
66-75th min Crowd seems to swell in number, from the afformentioned 44 to about 56, after OMR/LOR is given basic lessons on how to operate a mobile phone.(insurance in case things kick off at full time we assume)
70th min Great move by Megyesi and JEZ MITCHELL sees the latter chip home keeper for goal of the game, as Britannia seem to cope better with 10 men than hosts.
73rd min Renishaw change linesman pretty sharpish after Britannia pull goal back (normal coursre of action we understand, he probably didnt want to carry on)
75th min Renishaw have to change linesman AGAIN when Eagle eyed Natalie spots that the lad running the line was the guy SENT OFF just 10 mins previously, and shouldnt even have been NEAR the pitch, let alone taking ANY part in the proceedings TUT! TUT! you would have thought that a BASIC grasp of the rules, would have prevented any more bad feelings.
78th min Wright breaks clear of defence onto through ball, but is halted by OFFSIDE flag (i would have been dissapointed if he hadnt really)
