Home cup match played on 14 April 2012.
Kicked off at 10:00 AM

A Braveheart fight right to the final whistle but our Bravehearts where so unlucky.

We started the match very slowly and found ourselves 0 : 1 down in just four minutes but that just spurred us on and we lifted our game and took control. We got a well deserved equaliser in the 14th minute when the Referee awarded us an indirect free kick just inside the Rosario box after their keeper was judged to have held the ball in his hands to long. Reece Atkinson touched the ball to the side and Matthew Guest mashed a low shot into the bottom left hand corner of the net to make it 1 : 1. We kept plugging away and were creating enough chances but just could find the net again but as half time approached and against the run of play Rosario took the lead again, when they put a low ball across the box which came off Andrew Graham and into his own net. Very cruel on Andrew who was having a great game in the back four.

HALF TIME : 1 . 2

The second half was a half of one team as we dominated it all the way till added time. The back four were solid midfield were chasing everything and throughout the second half we certainly had enough chances to score. Twenty minutes in we went to a back three as we were camped in Rosario’s half; Bradley McCourt went into Central midfield pushing Noah Crenshaw up front with Rhys Mackie into a 3-5-2. We came close with shots from Noah, Matthew, Rhys & even Brandon came up from right back on several occasions and had a go but we just couldn’t find the equaliser. The league champions were holding on but we were quickly running out of time, so it was time to go for it as we were going out anyway we might as well have a go so we went to a 2-5-3 for the last five minute in search of the equaliser. Andrew Graham came off from left back and Marcus Bar came on up front and within a minute of him being on he went down the left put over the ball which was meant by Noah Crenshaw and his shot was cleared of the line. Then a minute from time we lost Matthew Guest to injury, he was replaced by Stuart Hannah up front and Marcus went out to left wing. The boys had gave it their best shot and a minute into added time Rosario wrapped up the game by scoring a third to make it 1 : 3. Then they grabbed a fourth in the third minute of added time as we were still pushing forward they it us on the counter attack.

FULL TIME : 1 . 4

Managers Comments:

So proud of every single player for they played some great football, kept their heads up and were by far the best team on the day just couldn’t get the ball in the net in a game they controlled. It has been a good season for our first year in the Premier League and we still have one cup left so let’s go and win it and bring something home for all your hard work.
