Home league match played on 22 March 2009.
Kicked off at 12:00 PM

This game was played at the early time of 12.00pm and it was unfortunate for Al Ansar who had 3 players playing in the morning league, who could only play in the 2nd half.  Al Ansar were to play the Champions Aston Rangers with 8 players. “The Helpers” again helping out the opposition.

Playing Aston Rangers with 11 players is difficult enough but to start the game with 8 players was asking for trouble and the Rangers team duly obliged with Ahtasham and Akbar Ali scoring with ease and Aston Rangers comfortably reaching 5-0 at half time without breaking a sweat.

Aston Rangers kept the ball well, passed it around with ease and little pressure. Asfar was causing all sorts of problems against 16 year old Fehzan who is a goalkeeper by trade, he played at left back. Asfar linked up well with Leon and put in a few good crosses. Aston Rangers lacked composure in front of goal at times. Akbar held the ball up well for Aston Rangers and Ahtasham scored two quick goals before making way for Suff, after getting injured. Zar and afy were dictating play in the middle and everything good went through them.

A special mention and thanks to Nasir Adnan for running the lines for the full game without any acknowledgement or thanks from the Al Ansar players.

In the second half Asif, Hadeel and Asim bolstered the Al Ansar team but surely they couldn’t perform “The Great Escape” . Al Ansar tried to establish themselves in the game and the three players introduced lifted the whole team.  Asif held the ball up and tried getting others into play and Hadeel was a threat.

However Aston Rangers scored first to take the score to 6-0 after a defensive mistake. Al Ansar responded straight away and Hadeel scored a good goal to earn a bit of respect for his team. However a tired looking Al Ansar then went on to conceding another 4 goals, 3 in the last 7 minutes with an absolute peach from leon.

Aston Rangers played with a 4-4-2 formation for the first time which looked very threatening from both flanks. The formation is yet to be conclusive as Al Ansar did not provide much of a test.
