Away friendly match played on 26 August 2012.
Kicked off at 10:30 AM

North Ascot won the penalty shootout.

The annual Sunninghill and Ascot Parish Shield kicked off the football season for local teams on Sunday 26th Aug with a competitive final at Victory Fields. Rounding off a tournament between the Parish’s Sunday league teams.

Atheltico and North Ascot met in the final last year with Athletico winning 6-3, both teams compete in the Camberley and District Sunday Football league although beating a team two divisions above them made success all the sweeter for fourth division Athletico.

Besides Athletico having several players missing and two players making their debut they went into the game quiteley confident having never lost to North Ascot before and putting 10 goals past them in their previous 3 matches.

Ascot started strongly on North Ascots home ground with a goal from Rob Keeley within the first twenty minutes, North Ascot unable to keep up with the pace of Athleticos younger side soon turned the game into a true sunday league match opting to slow Atheltico down with some unecessery behaviour leading to red card offences from both teams. With these new tactics and a super fluke from North Ascot, they soon took the score to 1-1 before half time.

Both teams fought well in the second half before more disturbance from North Ascot, delaying play again. Like the first half the ever more frustrated Athletico allowed North Ascot to gain control of the match and after some well worked football North Ascot took a deserving lead.

Athletico again began to come back into the game looking to attack on the counter, with some impressive periods of play. The hardwork then paid of after a lengthy throw from Adam Hunter unnerved North Ascot causing a penalty for Athletico. Rob Keeley again saw this one in the back of the net!

....... Penalties

The penalty shoot out saw some impressive and unstoppable spot kicks from both teams leaving the keepers with no chance, however, an ''almost worldy'' penalty from Tayler Mitchinson hit the woodwork leaving North Ascot a chance to finish the game and that they did, cooly putting the ball in the back of the net
