Home league match played on 27 August 2019.
Kicked off at 6:15 PM

These early midweek kick offs are not what AVD are accustomed to and with 2 of the starting line-up late they are forced to make immediate changes, Blacher comes into his familiar left back role, Dan Nicholls comes into midfield and Stephen Lindsey moves further forwards. Game starts at a frantic pace and with 15 on the clock the first, and probably the best team goal is scored by the home team, a dissecting ball from flappy footed Ellis Goodin sees that race horse FJ the Grey gallop down the left and fire a perfectly weighted ball to the back post, Spuds on hand to side foot home despite the ball being chest height. Second goal is probably the best individual goal of the game but only just, Flappy picks the ball up on the edge of the area, turns inside, 2 players all over him he decides to turn back outside and as if by magic, both players are fooled, LB makes a beeline for the goal area, enters it and fires with his left and weaker foot, an excellent goal. New signing Nicholls seems to have a problem so is replaced by Martin Carr. Third and final goal of the half, great work down the left by the Stallion again, ball arrives back post to Spud, he lays it to the edge of the area for Flappy to not so flappily despatch the ball low, hard and into the bottom left corner. 10mins left and some deranged fool kicks a ball on from the side line which hits Gray in the face and gives him a bloody nose, he has to be replaced by Terminator Toby. The final section of the half Vale and under pressure somewhat and Griff must make a good save tipping over from a Stoke strikers header, whistle blows, and half time arrives, a good battle where Aylesbury could be 6,7,8 up if they were slightly more clinical.

Second half begins and Vale are in full control, pressure high up the pitch is really making Stoke struggle. Don’t ask why but Hammonds small tricky cm decides to try and dribble the ball out of the box from a goal kick – head down and run forest ruuun, straight into Stephen Lindsey who knocks him off balance somewhat, enough so that his next touch is heavy and Salty plays a first time ball straight through the middle where Lindsey is still standing, he runs onto it and passes right footed into the bottom right of the goal, 4-0 – an idiotic move from Tricky. No less than 10 mins later, Stoke are pushing on but Salter hits a looping ball over the top to Spud who seems to be in if he takes the right touch, with the ball being high and awkward he doesn’t, he does however keep the ball, turns out and plays a nice ball in front of Marty C who bursts down the left hand side. Mart drills the ball across goal between GK and defenders to the back post where Salter controls, the ball bounces up, but he manages to side foot home, we’ve seen him miss them before! Salter is replaced by a Teemu Pukki lookalike, albeit an uglier overweight version Darren Woolard. The game gets slightly scrappy with Hammond not enjoying being beaten they start fouling the boys in Yellow, very unsportsmanlike conduct. Despite the fouling Dynamos play their football and don’t get involved, Pukki plays the ball out to Marty C who has a run at the right back, step over, step over, drag back and he’s past him, Mart takes the ball sideways across the goal area and back heels the ball back where has has just come from, the ball nestles in the bottom corner, an excellent individual goal, still think Flapfoots was better. At this point Stoke Hammond give up and even their substitutes start walking away to the changing rooms. Spud scores again from another FJ cross, Gazelle Gray comes back on and bags his first of the season after a nice pass from Tazzy B, the race horse gets on the score sheet after some bravery going in with their GK and finally Teemu gets his moment, Josh plays the ball through to him and he nonchalantly passes the ball into the bottom corner left footed, a nice finish worthy of the early premier league top goal scorer. Aylesbury Vale win 10-0 in their first home game of the new campaign – probably best not to get carried away as Hammond had shipped 18 goals in the 2 games prior this one. Next up is a good test for the Dynamos vs Hanslope, they are title contenders in the early stages of the season.
