Home league match played on 09 October 2016.
Kicked off at 9:30 AM

Okay, so it's still pretty early in the season but Hove FC managed to put themselves in the the position of temporary rivals and so we focused on them as such. A veritable 6 pointer, played at the bobbly cauldren and analised by secretary Sqibbs, also saw the inclusion of the ever reluctant Scott, to fill in for Migs, who some say, is on his fifth mojito, third pill and is currently dancing shirtless on a small paddle boat, slowly drifting out to sea!

We were under no such intoxication though, other than a few sniffles, and the points were an attractive prospect, after our good start thus far.

Hove came out pressing and for once, BTown didn't utilise the passing game that would've neutrlaised the threat, good skill on the ball got us out of trouble, time and again along with a dominant aerial game from Baker and Pal and McKenna hit the woodwork but It might have gone a bit south, when a back pass caused Pal to sythe down their striker, who almost seemed to get swallowed by the ground whilst through on goal and I was sure the penalty spot would be pointed to. It was not. Nor was there a red brandished but that's the positive of elderly refs.

The ball stayed pretty much down the left for 45 minutes, giving everyone but Ian and Craig, plenty of touches. barring the vital touch from Craig, which saw Matty's back post ball spilled by the keeper and swept in from about 3 "out to bag BTown's 1st and see us 1-0 at the break.

A few words to get us on track and the second half began with much greater spells in the opposite half, Craig and Harry driving at players and Jack, adding some brilliant hold up play into his game, carried on from the first half. Rino finally did a Gerrard and dropped into a holding role, which I'm pretty sure didn't reduce the amount of running he did but added another great touch into our already rich, midfield. This is how BTown's second came, with a good spell of passing, ending at McKenna's feet and getting drilled low with curl, under the diving keeper. Chuck found the ball at his feet, 12 yards out with space for the shot and " leant back, like he was getting into a Lambourghini" ( cheers John!) to sky his shot over the bar! At 2-0, it was time to bring on some fresh legs and Alex, then John entered the fray, only to be introduced to a period of Hove pressure, with attack, after attack producing a Goal then potentially and equaliser. The defence kicked and cleared and it never came before we took hold of the match once again and proceeded to hammer shots at them, almost in angry retaliation, Alex hitting the bar and Jack, desperately trying to lose balls, over the houses opposite. (one was pretty close ) The goal and the points where finally bagged by Jack and deservedly so, latching on the Johns' round the corner, through ball and passing it in by the post from 18 yards out.

Great mix of talent going forward and few defensive mistakes, are creating a very positive run of results which really could get better. Living the dream Hombres.

Man of the match goes to Craigfor his relentless work rate and determination to keep attacking their defence.
