Basingstoke Town FC welcomed AFC Totton to the Stoneham Lane Football Complex 1G on 24 January 2026 for a league home match in a 7-a-side format, kicking off at 2:15pm. The match lasted 51 minutes plus added time, with Basingstoke Town FC running out convincing 5-1 winners.
Basingstoke Town lined up in a 2-3-1 formation, deploying two central defenders, three midfielders across the left, centre and right, and a lone striker up front. Elliot Munt guarded the goal, with Albert Ingram and Franko De’ath anchoring the defence centrally. Louie Vincent operated on the right midfield, Jasper Crane held the central midfield role, and Mo Kourouma took up the left midfield position. Leading the line was striker Blake Munt. The formation was designed to provide defensive solidity through the two central defenders, midfield control with three players supporting both defence and attack, and a focal point in attack through the striker. The substitutes available were Cameron Barr and Harry Lincoln.
The scoring opened early as Jasper Crane found the net in the 7th minute, expertly set up by a precise assist from Louie Vincent on the right. Just four minutes later, Vincent again provided the creative spark, delivering a cross that Blake Munt converted to double Basingstoke’s lead.
At the 18th minute mark, Basingstoke made a double substitution, with Cameron Barr replacing Mo Kourouma on the left midfield and Harry Lincoln coming on for Jasper Crane in central midfield. This tactical switch aimed to refresh the midfield engine and maintain the team’s momentum.
Albert Ingram extended the advantage in the 24th minute, slotting home to make it 3-0. The response was immediate as Louie Vincent continued his influential performance, assisting Blake Munt for his second goal of the match just a minute later. The half concluded shortly after at 25.5 minutes with Basingstoke firmly in control at 4-0.
Early in the second half, further changes saw Jasper Crane return to the pitch, replacing striker Blake Munt, while Mo Kourouma came back on for defender Franko De’ath. This reshuffle suggested a tactical shift to bolster midfield presence and maintain attacking threat.
AFC Totton managed to pull a goal back in the 32nd minute, offering a glimmer of hope, but Basingstoke’s dominance was undeterred. At the 35th minute, Blake Munt was reintroduced up front for Louie Vincent, while Franko De’ath returned to defence in place of Albert Ingram, signalling a rotation to keep players fresh.
Substitutions continued with Louie Vincent replacing Cameron Barr and Albert Ingram coming back on for Harry Lincoln at the 44th minute, restoring the original defensive and midfield balance.
The final goal came in the 50th minute when Blake Munt completed his hat-trick, this time assisted by Franko De’ath, sealing a comprehensive 5-1 victory for Basingstoke Town FC. The team’s fluidity in attack and solid defensive structure proved too much for AFC Totton throughout the match.
