East Peckham were the only side to do the double over us last season, the away game a humiliating 4-0 defeat.  If fact we have never beaten this side ever.  These facts alone were enough to fire everyone up in the team talks before the game.  The starting 11 was unchanged except for Bowlsey replacing Junior at right back who missed the game after Doing on some bad shrooms the night before.  The club would like wish him well and offer our full support during his stay at the priory.  Adam returned on the bench and due to an injury crisis there was even a late call up to the squad for Pikey Wood.  Gentleman and Jim, Smithy and Brown bear were desperate to build on last week’s first clean sheet of the season and have another shut out this week.

After giving away three free kicks in the first 5 minutes, all for mistimed tackles Woggles found his range and began crunching away in the middle winning every 50/50 ball and clearing the path for Thumbelina to work his magic.  He was also calling when he went up for headers.  It’s only taken him 24 years to learn this unique and difficult skill. Well done Thomas Bayley we salute you and your endeavors to better yourself xx

As the game ploughed on Gozzy and Bert were starting to get in behind the EP back four and give them a few problems.  The ball was also being moved around well in midfield and an early chance fella to Thom Thumb but he blazed over from 18 yards. Still it was a warning and one they didn't heed as minutes later Thom dispossessed an opposing player deep in their half and threaded the ball through to Captain Cum face who finished well to put us 1 up and draw him level with Hobbit on 5 goals apiece.  15 minutes later it was 2-0.  This time a brilliant ball in from the right from Bert was met brilliantly in mid air by Gozzy's head, leaving the EP keeper routed to the spot.  Early in the 2nd half a needless and dangerous challenge left the Hobbit down and out and was replaced by his bezzy Ads pushing Axel Foley up to left mid.  Harrison effect on the game was immediate as straight away after his introduction to the game it inspired the team to notch a 3rd.  Finally 2Gun Willy finding his shooters and rising like an unopened tin of John West Salmon to nod home a Craig Gosnell corner.  Skip really was racking up the pie in this one.  At the back Jim and Smithy were having another solid game and won every header and tackle.  When they the back were breached on occasion Brown Bear was more than equal to anything they had on offer. A great display considering the wet and windy conditions.  The game was wrapped up by Axel late on. A neat move out on the left with Thom Thumb and 2Gun finished with Axel picking the ball up and running round the right back and slotting past the keeper.  We survived a late onslaught, just, with Brown Bear throwing his samosa's out the pram when they hit the bar late on.  It finished 4-0, an all round great performance through the team with good football on display and real Captains performance from Mr Gosnell, leading from the front.  Still though we want to know what's happened to the Chomps this season?.....................
